SCAPE
19 September - 2 November 2008 Christchurch The 5th Biennial of Art in Public Spaces challenges the central city and both its structures and people to redefine their perception of 'public space'.
     
Body Festival
25 September - 12 October 2008 Christchurch 2008 brings another 18 days of workshops, performances, films and parties all celebrating the human body and physical activity.
     
The Antarctic Festival    
26 September - 3 October 2008 Christchurch Christchurch is the gateway to Antarctica, and this festival helps celebrate the cities link with this great white wilderness.
     
OCTOBER 2008    
French Fest    
10 and 11 October 2008 Akaroa Join the residents of Akaroa as they celebrate being the first French settlement in New Zealand, with entertainment, activities and of course great food and wine!
     
Beca Heritage Week    
17 - 27 October 2008 Christchruch Beca Heritage Week 2008 theme – Retrospective: Christchurch Life, Architecture and Design 1940s-1970s - will take you through the 40 years following the end of World War II, from immediate post – war times, to the Rock and Roll of the 50s and the Rockers and Mods of the swinging Sixties through to the disco decade of the ‘70s.
     
NOVEMBER 2008    
New Zealand Cup and Show Week
7 - 16 November 2008 Christchurch Christchurch's premier spring festival, don't miss out on the racing, fashion, agriculture and music on offer where style and fun combine.
     
JANUARY 2009    
World Buskers Festival    
22 January - 1 February 2009 Christchurch Laughter is the same in any language and the worldwide line up of artists proves this year after year. Turning 16 in 2009 this is one sweet 16th not to be missed.

Ellerslie International Flower Show
