New Zealand has the highest number of golf courses per capita in the world, and Canterbury has the largest number of golf courses per head of population in New Zealand.

There is a golf course right in the heart of Christchurch, only minutes from the central business district, and over 40 more courses scattered throughout the region, ranging from smaller local district courses to larger internationally styled destination golf resorts such as Outrigger at Clearwater Resort and Terrace Downs High Country Resort.

While a number of countries may lay claim to being “a golfer’s paradise", none can match the variety, accessibility, and scenery of New Zealand‘s golf courses.
